In 2022-23, the GMR held two networking mixer events.  These mixers have been great events to see familiar faces, but also to make connections with new faces.   Raffle fundraisers are a new component added to the Mixers.  If you’ve attended, you know how much fun they are, but they also serve a significant purpose by assisting those with a need. 

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Fall Mixer fundraiser, with an additional match from the GMR, was provided to The Florida Disaster Relief Fund to assist victims of devastating Hurricane Ian.   

In honor of March 2023 Giving Day, all proceeds from the Spring Mixer fundraiser will be donated to The American Red Cross.   

At the annual GMR December Holiday Lunch, due to the generosity of gift card donations from the attendees, and a check from the GMR, a record donation was presented to Special Events Manager, Lindy Sperry, at “A Kid's Place.”  The Board continues to donate food and supplies to this deserving organization to support their goal of ensuring a safe, loving, and nurturing home to the children in their care. 

In April, the GMR Board will be volunteering to assist with the Special Olympics Florida Golf Classic pre-event.
